Research pathway

Shaun and I have decided to research the indoor farming system because we felt it was relevant to Singapore. To kickstart our research, we relied on ChatGPT to provide us with an overview of different technologies and mechanisms used in indoor farming systems.

With the help of ChatGPT, we decided to narrow down to an automated nutrient delivery system. Using google and YouTube, we managed to gain more insights on the features of this automated nutrient delivery system. We then googled some indoor farms in Singapore using this technology and also companies that produce this delivery system. From this process, we also found out that the Singapore food agency (SFA) has a ‘30 by 30’ goal. The goal is to build up Singapore’s indoor farming systems such that it is capable of producing 30 percent of Singapore’s nutritional needs sustainably by 2030. From the articles, we have also identified the benefits and limitations of the system.
